Main equipments and instruments

The Kaohsiung International Airport is measured 244 hectares in sum. It provided transportation of  8,282951 person-time (Domestic-5,275,379 and International-3,007,572) in 2001. The equipment it has now are as follow:

1.Main Equipments

(1)Two Terminal Buildings

A. Domestic Terminal Building is measured 17,500M2 , the designed capacity is 5,400,000 person/year.
B.International Terminal Building is measured 70,985M2 , the designed capacity is 6,300,000 person/year with 12 boarding gates, 16 ramps, and 80 check-in counters.

(2)Runway

A.One Main-Runway (09L/27R) as 3,150 M long and 60 M wide, composed by concrete surface with PCN=69RCXU。　

B.One Sub-Runway (09R/27L) as 3,050 M long and 45 M wide, composed of asphalt concrete on concrete base with PCN=53RCXU.
The distance of these two runways is 184M. Simultaneous taking off is forbidden. The Sub runway servers as taxiway ordinarily. The runways capacity in rush hour  is 32 flights/hour in maximun

(3)Taxiway

A.Two parallel taxiways (Taxiway A and the sub runway).
B.In order not to make any inconvenience to the nearby residents caused by noisy from aircrafts, from 0:00 to 6:30 is the curfew time of the Airport. No taking off nor landing is allowed except any emergency.

(4)Apron: 

Measured 316,227 M2, with 32 Apron parking lots.

(B-757), 6 for turboprop planes(MD-80`s、A320), and 2 propeller liners(DO-228).

B. 16 parking lots for International passenger lines, including 4 for Jumbo (B-747), 8 for airliners (B-767、A300), and 4 for 接駁機(3-B-757、1-A320) sharing parking lots with Domestic lines.

2.Appendix Equipments

(1)One maintenance shed: measured 7,056M2 and capable of two airliners, including one B-737 and one A-300 or two airliners of the same type, to do the maintenance simultaneously.

(2)One passenger's bridge: 343M long to connect the Domestic and International Terminal Buildings, with speedwalk provided.

(3)Car Parks: 29 parking lots for bus, 1114 parking lots for sedan, 29 parking lots for handicapped vehicle, 20 VIP parking lots.

(4)Transformer Station: One set (69KV) for emergency power supply.

(5)Sewage disposal system: Pre-treatment system (240 CMD sewage designed); sewage treatment system (3100CMD sewage designed)

(6)Fire station: fire-fighting equipments comply with the Specification ICAO, airport sort 9.

(7)Gas station: One CPC station. There are oil faucet  at the International Aprons, and the Domestic lines are supplied by oil car.

(8)Cargo Station: measured 16,813M2, running by Taiwan Airport Cargo Transport.

3.Guiding and Control instruments

(1)Control Tower: One old Control Tower is running now, and the new constructed now is to start running in 2003 in place of the old one.

(2)One observatory.

(3)(CAT-I ILS)、(DME)。

(4)MARKER。

(5)LOCATOR, which is set in Ci-jin, Kaohsiung。

(6)Terminal Radar in the northern side of the airport(ASR-9)。
