Kaohsiung International Airport is a member of the Airports Council International (ACI) and has been actively engaged in energy conservation and carbon reduction efforts for many years. The airport participates in the ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation program, and in 2016, it became the first airport in Taiwan to achieve Level 3 Optimization Carbon Management certification. In order to continue implementing greenhouse gas reduction policies, reduce environmental pollution around the airport, fulfill social and global environmental responsibilities, the airport will maintain its Level 3 reduction certification, enhance energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies and management practices, and actively encourage airlines and passengers to participate in energy-saving and carbon reduction activities, moving towards the ideal goal of a carbon-neutral airport.
Kaohsiung International Airport (KIA) upholds the conviction of energy saving and environment-friendly, inviting stakeholders in the airport to participate in carbon emission reduction work together for environmental sustainability.
Our mission：Reduce the airport-wide greenhouse gas emissions per unit workload year by year.＊One workload is equal to one passenger or 100kg of cargo.
